My scouting trip for adding a photography workshop to the Alabama Hills was very successful. It would be a fun place to take a group of people to hone in their photography skills. The participants would nor only have me there to teach the “how to” and pointers but would leave with some really good photos too. I feel like my photo courses are limited by not only the time we are together taking photos but by subject matter as well as the time of day that works out for most peoples schedules. Taking a trip completely dedicated to photography would be a wonderful solution. Also now I know the better time of the day for the Alabama Hills and could add in a trip up to the Mt. Whitney Portals. A Saturday and Sunday workshop would work but adding in a Friday or Monday would be nice. Because of the rattlesnakes and for the Sierras be be a more dramatic back drop late fall through early spring would be the best time of year to go.
